Decorating Time!!

We finally got our tree and house decorations up. It gets more and more fun each year with the kids getting older and REALLY understanding everything! Also, this is the first year that we really have a home to decorate. Last year we had just moved in and it was still a yellow house with TURQUOISE trim....did I say turquoise!?!?! I was also pregnant and exhausted so all we did was put up a tree. But this year we wanted to decorate the outside of the house too. It's not much but it was fun!

So...brainstorming...brainstorming....we'll make our OWN wreaths and garland!! COOL!! My my 'handy dandy husband' handmade the garland and wreaths for the front of the house. The best part is it was all free. We picked up trimmings from home depot and a Christmas tree lot and he put them together at home!! Real stuff looks (and smells) so much better too! I think he did an AWESOME job...what do you think??

At night the garland has white lights on it!! :-) So it's not overly doing anything but we still look like the most festive (and tasteful) house on the street! :-) You can kinda see it here....

We don't have tons of decorations. I think that you just slowly accumulate stuff over the years. And we're definitely doing that a little more each year! Maybe I can hit the store clearances after Christmas and score some new ones....hmmmmm. :-)

  1. Ya'll kill me with your creativity! I love it!
I have TONS of Christmas decorations for inside because we had a Christmas shower when we were engaged, but almost every year since we got married, I hit the after Christmas sales. I have enough ornaments to decorate trees for everyone in the neighborhood! GREAT DEALS AFTER CHRISTMAS! :)

  3. Great site! I am also amazed at the amount of people in Walmart who think they can touch my kiddos, even though they are saying how cute they are. But, the worst is when I was pregnant in Walmart and the older women who wanted to touch my belly. UGH! You ahve a beautiful family.
