I love Fridays and I love Happy Babies!
I snapped these shots while I was shooting a quick, easy sewing tutorial!! So YES, stay tuned! It's super easy!
Rhodes is so smiley and chatty these days! I love all the expressions he gives us!
Here are just a few!
Hope everyone has a great weekend! Ours is going to be filled with baseball practice and hanging out around the house with the family! I can't wait!

Portraits
It started when Olivia was 10 months old. My parents had her while Robert and I had some time to ourselves. Little did I know she was up to something.
At Christmas that year, she gifted me with portraits of Olivia! I think I cried! They were so sweet and precious.
So, with every child since then, we've continued to get their pictures done at the same age. The girls wear the same dress, boys the same little outfit. The girls are wearing my add-a-pearl necklace. And all are pictured with the same silver rattle that was given to Olivia when she was born!!
So this past Christmas, we received Rhodes' portraits! The now all hang together on our wall in the den.
I find myself looking at them often trying to figure out who looks like who.
People offer their opinions ALL the time - and the opinions differ greatly.
Anyways, here are all the kids pics taken around the same age.

So after seeing these pics...who do you think look alike now?

Hodge Podge
I thought I'd ramble a little bit today. We'll see where this goes!
We're out for Christmas break! And we're trying to find things to do! And it's kinda hard when you have at least one child that is slightly under the weather. Olivia battled a mild flu (we found out when she was practically well) and I think Rhodes is riding one out too. But it's super mild...mainly just a fever and whiney. Poor baby!
So that cuts out places like the gym and friends houses. :-(
I am COMPLETELY done with Christmas shopping (minus a quick trip to pick up something), but we won't count that.
It feels SO good.
Except for the fact that the kids FOUND the presents...but promised they wouldn't look. And there's been no mention of them since. Thank goodness for one of Landon's gifts - it's in a gigantic box and pretty much blocks any view of all the toys.
Just 4 more days to make sure they stay hidden....or that the kids don't get into them again. :-)
I think the pic above is so funny! He's been decked out in camo since he's been out of school...and he blended in so well with the ground! Landon went hunting last weekend. Not his first hunt, but definitely the first time to watch a deer be dressed!! The two things he'll tell you about that experience are 1) He saw it's butt, and 2) The cut the antlers off and you could see the skull.
Really...that's all that stands out?! MmmmmK.
Excuse the nose...it won't stay clean right now. I wipe and wipe....just that time of year + a cold.
He's still climbing everywhere! No more spills though...but I think that's more on my part. Tip: Don't leave anything out. :-)
This week, my sister and I are going to do an engagement shoot with Walton and Margaret! Lacey and I thought it would be fun, but the Walton and Margaret were SUPER excited! Turns out they weren't going to pay for pics and put that $$ towards a band.
So I CANNOT wait to bless/gift them with that! SO FUN! Hopefully they'll let me share pictures!
Excuse the makeupless face and day old hair! But I just liked seeing my Ole Miss Mom decal! :-)
Our Christmas celebrations begin Thursday night with a Christmas Eve Service (even though it's the 23rd...we're going to 1 of the 12 services and that night worked the best) and then all day Christmas Eve, we house jump and eat, play, rest, eat, play, eat, open presents, eat, play...SLEEP!
Then Saturday, we'll stay in and play all day! And hopefully, Saturday afternoon, TAKE OUR TREE DOWN. It's a fire hazard. Seriously. It is CRIS-PY! And wilting and all the water in the world can't save it. It's been up a month so it's lasted a good while!
I haven't heard back about my lens yet. I keep checking if it's shipped everyday....but not yet. I did talk to them and they are going to check EVERYTHING else, clean it and all for FREE!!! So far...service has been great!
One last random thing...I didn't do Christmas cards this year. :-( And not because everyone knows what's going on and what we look like from Facebook or the Blog. I love sending Christmas cards and receiving them!
BUT...let's face it...they're expensive! And last year, when I bought $100 worth of stamps, they were stolen and I had to buy $100 of stamps again. We've got a hefty list!
We decided to have more wiggle room in our giving budget and take a year off from cards this year.
Hopefully next year!!!

In Between The Chase
While Landon was being chased around by our new little friend, Lillian and Rhodes were checking out the playground!
Rhodes was almost completely entertained by watching all the kids run around!
Then he realized there were a few things to play around with and began to crawl and walk around.
Lillian caught the attention (shocker) of several caregivers at the park. Commenting on her age and attitude. (This is coming a very common occurrence these days) But she just scaled all the park jungle gyms like no big deal.
Pretty panties, smocked dresses and all

Taking breaks when she needed to.
New parks are so much fun! New stuff to play on!!! I just hate Olivia misses out on it. But she LOVES piano and is very good at it too!

Labor Equals Value
* pictures and text have nothing to do with each other*
So the kitchen. The painting is DONE! Yay! But I can't decide whether to post pics before or after we do the lighting and once Robert completely finishes the window. They're framed out but need to be painted. :-)
Y'all, I pretty proud my kitchen. I mean, I actually did most of the work! I primed 3/4's of them by myself. Robert AND I both first and second coated them.
Then I (yes, all by myself) re-hung every.single.cabinet and drawer. Electric drill and all!
Oh yeah!
Then....I got all crazy and decided to repaint my desk!!!!!
Who am I!??!
It needed it bad. It was all scraped up. Now it's as good a new!
I also got to rearrange my desk and clean/dust behind it! Yikes, it needed it.
We still have to pick out and replace the under-cabinet lighting. I'm not sure when that will be happening. Hopefully soon!
The two ceiling light fixtures will be "dealt with" as well. When, I dunno.
Robert did a beautiful job on the windows in the kitchen. I want to hang some window treatments above them to match the one hanging over the sink. Just good old blue toile. :-)
I'm also proud to say that there are NO random items (except for playdough - which cannot be left out within hand reach of my children) that are sitting on top of the cabinets!
Which brings me to the title of this post.
Since I worked pretty hard on these cabinets, I practically won't let the kids touch them!
And if one splatter of anything gets on them, I wipe it up ASAP!
And my desk....I won't even set my coffee cup on it! :-)
I'm pretty sure the kids see it too. If they start to jump up on the counter, they catch themselves as to not accidentally kick the cabinets and scuff them up!
It's such a valuable lesson. Labor = Value. And one that I'm afraid isn't around much anymore. BUT, I hope to instill it in my kiddos!!!
I just hope it last a while for me and my kitchen!!
SOOOOO.......
Do you want pics NOW? Or after it is like, completely done? Which I have no idea when that will be?!???
