Friday iPhone Dump!

This man....

Played a 152 point word on me the other night on words with friends.  CRAZY!  It's his first ever game and he's killing me.

I often put my kids to work.  Landon's a great helper and I'm so glad their old enough to help out!!

We always clean in style.  ;-)  Olivia is organizing her drawers in the back ground.

While I was at the doctors office for TWO HOURS with FOUR KIDS.....

I was looking through a magazine and saw this:

Seriously WHAT will they come up with next.  And do you think they've made and sales??

Just a funny pictures of Robert brushing Rhodes' teeth.

Me and Lillian about to go out to dinner.

Rhodes scaling the railing and scaring strangers to death at dinner.

Lillian getting in on the action.

SWIMMING!!!

Sun bathing.

Wore.Slap.Out.

Everyone wants to feel baby Ford move!!

We love free ice cream from Bruster!!

Like I said, I put my kids to work.  I will take what I can get.

Looking at old photo albums!

Getting windblown at the McWane center.

Face to face with a tarantula.

We got to see the scorpian, tarantula, and hissing cock roaches!

Silly Audrey.  The kids put a star on her.

My silly sushi date.

Best bday card ever.

And the fact that it has a cat on it is just icing on the cake.

Sometime I ask myself the same question.  ;-)

HAPPY WEEKEND!

Why I Never Have To Buy Makeup....

......and a few products I can't live without.

I have lots of makeup.  Like LOTS.  I kinda got obsessed with QVC several years ago (don't judge!) :-) and signed up for auto-delivery for a couple (ok a lot) of Bare Escentuals products and kits.  BUT IT WAS A GREAT DEAL!  It really was...no lie.

I just thought, great, I'm stocked up for several years.  Til a friend came over and saw my drawers.  Then she told me I had a problem.  ;-)

Drawer 1:

This drawer is my main stuff.  Every couple of months I'll clean it out and rotate colors.  Seasonally usually.  There is no way to keep this stuff organized.  But I always seem to know right where something is.

Makeshift Drawer 2:

This drawer sits above our bathroom cabinet.  It's for special occasions and times I want a little color.  If I wanna mix things up, I pull this out and play.  It also keeps all the EXTRA face/eye colors I received in all those kits from QVC! :-)

Also, as far as expiration dates, I'm pretty sure minerals don't expire.  From what I've read/heard the company HAS to put an expiration date on them, but in my experience, NO harm has come from using them after.  Other stuff like mascara, etc, I chunk.  :)

please ignore our colorful sponge-painted walls.  we re did every room of the house BUT this one when we moved it...no one sees it anyways...until now :p

I won't even show you the bucket of makeup up in my closet.  Which I'm really saving for the girls to play with one day.  My mom had a stash for us when we were little and I have MANY fond memories of playing in it.  Still do enjoy playing with it!! haha

So that is why I NEVER have to buy makeup.  BUT, recently I've run out of foundation and am having to buy it on a regular basis now.  I use BareMinerals matte foundation that is also infused with their RareMinerals complex.  I'm not sure if it works or not, but I'm pretty much stuck on this foundation and won't try anything else.  ;)

Another product I can't live without is this Urban Decay potion primer.  You put this on before eyeshadow/eyeliner....it ain't going anywhere!  I use this daily!

This product I've been using for SO long.  It has me hooked.  Since bare minerals are loose minerals, this turns whatever color you want to line your eyes with into a waterproof liner sealer.  Use this with the eye primer, and you are SET!  I use this daily too.

Onto face primer.  I don't use this everyday.  Only when I know I have a LONG day ahead of me or a special occasion I'll swipe this on.  It's like the minerals are set in place after you buff them on your face.

So, the thing that sparked the idea of a post like this was that I FINALLY ran out of concealer, and was forced to break down and buy some new.  I ran into Sephora and talked to the ladies.  I told them I wanted something that would last/cover/match and OH, was also in the $20-25 range.  Well, they were SUPER helpful and we came in UNDER budget with this Benefit Boi-ing concealer for $18.  It's considered industrial strength and so far, I like it. It actually made me realize how "off" my previous concealer was!  YIKES!

And last but not least BRUSHES!!!

This is just a handful of them.  I would get anywhere from 2-4 brushes with my kits from QVC.  And BareMinerals has some GREAT quality brushes.  Best eyeshadow brushes I've ever used.  I wash with face soap every so often and let them air dry.  But I kinda like that the minerals stay in so that if I ever need a touch up,  I just buff the brush over my face.

So are there any other great makeup products I need to know about??

Hodge Podge

I thought I'd ramble a little bit today.  We'll see where this goes!

We're out for Christmas break!  And we're trying to find things to do!  And it's kinda hard when you have at least one child that is slightly under the weather.  Olivia battled a mild flu (we found out when she was practically well) and I think Rhodes is riding one out too.  But it's super mild...mainly just a fever and whiney.  Poor baby!

So that cuts out places like the gym and friends houses.  :-(

I am COMPLETELY done with Christmas shopping (minus a quick trip to pick up something), but we won't count that.

It feels SO good.

Except for the fact that the kids FOUND the presents...but promised they wouldn't look.  And there's been no mention of them since.  Thank goodness for one of Landon's gifts - it's in a gigantic box and pretty much blocks any view of all the toys.

Just 4 more days to make sure they stay hidden....or that the kids don't get into them again.  :-)

I think the pic above is so funny!  He's been decked out in camo since he's been out of school...and he blended in so well with the ground!  Landon went hunting last weekend.  Not his first hunt, but definitely the first time to watch a deer be dressed!!  The two things he'll tell you about that experience are 1) He saw it's butt, and 2)  The cut the antlers off and you could see the skull.

Really...that's all that stands out?!  MmmmmK.

Excuse the nose...it won't stay clean right now.  I wipe and wipe....just that time of year + a cold.

He's still climbing everywhere!  No more spills though...but I think that's more on my part.  Tip:  Don't leave anything out.  :-)

This week, my sister and I are going to do an engagement shoot with Walton and Margaret!  Lacey and I thought it would be fun, but the Walton and Margaret were SUPER excited!  Turns out they weren't going to pay for pics and put that $$ towards a band.

So I CANNOT wait to bless/gift them with that!  SO FUN!  Hopefully they'll let me share pictures!

Excuse the makeupless face and day old hair!  But I just liked seeing my Ole Miss Mom decal! :-)

Our Christmas celebrations begin Thursday night with a Christmas Eve Service (even though it's the 23rd...we're going to 1 of the 12 services and that night worked the best) and then all day Christmas Eve, we house jump and eat, play, rest, eat, play, eat, open presents, eat, play...SLEEP!

Then Saturday, we'll stay in and play all day!  And hopefully, Saturday afternoon, TAKE OUR TREE DOWN.  It's a fire hazard.  Seriously.  It is CRIS-PY!  And wilting and all the water in the world can't save it.  It's been up a month so it's lasted a good while!

I haven't heard back about my lens yet.  I keep checking if it's shipped everyday....but not yet.  I did talk to them and they are going to check EVERYTHING else, clean it and all for FREE!!!  So far...service has been great!

One last random thing...I didn't do Christmas cards this year. :-(  And not because everyone knows what's going on and what we look like from Facebook or the Blog.  I love sending Christmas cards and receiving them!

BUT...let's face it...they're expensive!  And last year, when I bought $100 worth of stamps, they were stolen and I had to buy $100 of stamps again.  We've got a hefty list!

We decided to have more wiggle room in our giving budget and take a year off from cards this year.

Hopefully next year!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Let's Talk Hair

Now here's a change of pace for me!!! haha  HAIR!

I recently fell in love with my curling iron.  I can't believe I waited so long to learn how to use one!  You see, my hair has gotten pretty long (for me) and a girl need options!  I was getting sick of it just laying straight or in a ponytail.  And I would try to curl it with curlers to try and get waves like the celebs but I could never seem to get it just right.  A girl can dream right?!  I'm sure they have a whole crew around them doing their hair.  Not to mention that some of it could be extensions!

Well, I bit the bullet and purchased a fairly inexpensive 1" curling iron for $32...not to bad, eh?

Then I did something out of the ordinary for me.

I went to youtube and searched "get celeb waves with 1" curling iron".

WOW...there were lots of tutorials.   But the second video I clicked on had me hooked.  I HAD to try it out! Here's the video....

Seems easy enough...RIGHT?!

Well, you better bet during nap time I took my shower and prepped for some curling iron action.

Sure it took a little long the first time.  But overall, it was actually pretty easy once I figured out which direction to wrap the hair and how to hold the curling iron!  I was just so shocked to NOT use the little clamp on the curling iron.  It was a foreign concept to me to just wrap the hair around the barrel!!!  But that seems to be the "secret" to the loose wave!

I quite impressed with my first time results!

Here they are!

I'm so glad to have other ways to wear my long hair...because I don't want my only "change it up" option to be "cut it off"!!!

I've now "done the 'do" a few times now and I'm definitely getting faster!  And if I let my hair air dry for a little bit before I start to blow dry it, it only takes maybe 20 minutes or less from drying time through curling time.  Not too bad when it gives you a little self esteem boost about your hair.  Especially hair that hasn't been cut in *achem* 4 months!!!!

What other hair tricks are there to do with my new curling iron???!

Hello Again!

Hey y'all!

This week I've been dealing with craigslist.  How can you love something so much and hate it so much at the same time.

Those are my feelings about craigslist.  It's either really good...or really bad.

My sweet little phone died last Sunday and I've been on the hunt to find what I want within my husband's budget AND avoid going through our carrier to avoid crazy fees and taxes!

HA!

It's been challenging to say the least.  Sad to say it isn't quite over yet.  But hopefully soon.

But did you know that you CAN survive without a phone?!?  I mean, sure I love to be able to pick up and call my husband or catch a last minute lunch/walk with friends, but being "off the grid" is doable....for a period of time.

I sure would hate to have something happen to my kids and no one be able to get in touch with me!!!

Here's what we've been up to!

Movie and popcorn night....all piled on the couch!!!

Playing outside in the WONDERFUL weather!!

Rhodes got a chance to bounce around on the trampoline for a bit...until he was bounced around by the others. :-)

We dug out the camo overalls that were Landon's when he was one.

Guess it cancels out the fact that he's riding a purple and pink barbie jeep....down the hill.  And got stuck.

So a sister helped him out!

DAREDEVIL!

Rhodes is already showing great signs of interest in sports!

Tennis AND baseball!

He is READY!!!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!!!
