My Night

9:55 p.m. Transformer blows and power goes out. {I'm counting the seconds until the kids freak}

9:56 p.m. First set of stumbling, confused footsteps - Landon whimpering can't find his way to our room.

9:57 p.m. Wake Robert up (not awake yet) and make him go find candles/flashlight/phone

9:58 p.m. Olivia calls for us and wants me to come get her (and Lillian)

10:00 p.m. Set up pallets on floor, kids start arguing who sleeps closest to the bed. Landon wins.

10:01 p.m. Robert turns on radio, music starts playing, Lillian starts dancing and clapping in our bed. {Great! It's gonna be a long night}

10:10 p.m. Blow out candles, tell everyone to go to sleep. Un-powered alarm system starts beeping every 30 seconds on the dot.

10:20 p.m. Robert escorts extremely wiggly, loud snoring child Lillian back to her bed...and gets in bed with her.

10:40 p.m. Leaves Lillian's bed and goes and rips alarm system out of wall pulls the batteries out so it quits beeping. Can't sleep so fumbles around in the den. {Doing what I have no idea..but I found trail mix out this morning} :-)

10:45 p.m. Olivia starts grinding her teeth and still awake Landon tell her (thinking she hears him) that he doesn't like it when she does that. I say, groggily, "Landon, shhh, go to sleep"

11:00 p.m. I think everyone is asleep - well, at least me...and that's what counts right! ;-)

1:00 a.m. Power starts to come on...yay...oh, not quite...another transformer blows. Doze back off into lala land.

2:25 a.m. Power officially comes back on. And thank goodness that didn't wake anyone up. Then realize my coffee isn't going to go off and be hot and ready at 5:56 a.m. like it does every morning! I guess I'm just going to have to sit there and wait for it to brew. Oh well.

Doze back off for a couple more hours of sleep...I hope.

A few more things:

1. I'm so glad it Friday and ALL the kids get to go down for long afternoon nap - probably me too! This week flew by!

2. I can NOT WAIT to watch Slumdog Millionaire this weekend. I will hunt it down until I find it at a movie store. It's the one thing I've asked for Robert to "make happen" this weekend. I mean, not that he has to make it happen, you know what I mean. It's just something I've been talking about seeing for weeks now...and it just came out on video and I think it'd be super fun to watch it with him...sans kids. I'm hoping that this movie won't fall into the same categories as the other "oscar movies" I've seen. Weird with no ending.

3. It is supposed to be beautiful this weekend, and I can't wait to enjoy it with the fam! I hope everyone has a GLORIOUS weekend!!
