MD Football

Mother's Day was great!   I'll spare you the pics of breakfast in bed my kids brought me.  Don't want to scare anyone.  But I do have the sweetest kiddos!

After church, lunch with friends, and a rest time, we headed to my parent's house to celebrate 3 generations of mothers!  Good food, good fellowship, and good fun!!

And then we played a little Mother's Day Football game!

Landon is quite the little athlete...but we kinda knew that already!

Teach 'em early!

Is that good form or what!?  ;-)

Getting set....gotta be ready to get that ball!

Lillian's turn to play QB!!

It may be a tradition now.  :-)

Happy belated Mother's Day to all mommies out there!!!

She Has Her Own Way Of Wearing Things

So I told you Lillian loves her new flip flops.  A lot.  As soon as I finished them the other day, she put them on and marched outside to ride her bike.  Can't you just picture her marching her little prissy self down the driveway!?  Pink outfit, pink shoes, pink bow, and her pink minnie mouse cup.  She was all ready!

Hopped up on her ride.  And about to peddle away.  Or rather, have me hunch over and push her around and around the driveway!  I look down......

....and I see this:

Shoes on wrong feet and the thong of the flip flop between the wrong toes.  And a much needed toenail polish touch up asap!

All righty then.  That looks comfy!

Like I was going to tell her to change it!

I'm just glad she's able to put her own shoes on without help!

The other foot:

Side note: that's one of the outfits I razored out the monogram and remonogrammed!  It turned out great despite the other monogram had been in for years!

While she was on her high horse, we realized the tires were very low.  Can't learn to ride with flat tires now, can we.

Sweet (and very handy) Landon came over to check the pressure in them for her.

Then we got the air pump and filled them up!!

She such a mess - a cute mess.  And she continued to wear her flip flops like that the rest of the time outside!

To each their own, I guess.

And oh, hi there!  As awful as self portraits are, I realized that I'm not going to exist in ANY pictures unless I start snapping more of them.  Looking through my scrapbooks recently, I realized that my mother was hardly in any pictures!  So I'm breaking the cycle NOW!

Or someone else in my family is going to have to learn to work my camera - in manual mode! ;-)

Flip Flop Fun

This is such an easy way to spruce up kids $2.50 flip flops from Walmart.  Which, by the way (and on a completely different note), couponing has kept me out of Walmart for a while now.  Which is one huge incentive for me to keep up with my coupons!  You get used to wonderful customer service, friendly employees, and a clean store like Publix, that going back to Walmart was like culture shock for me!  Hope it's a while before I go back there again - I think I'll clip some more coupons this morning! ;-)

Back to the flops - the ribbon was $1.97 and I have some left over.  Maybe for a hair bow?

I first made the two bows the way I talked about HERE.  Then I took some wire and secured the bow to the flip flop.

Voila!

Then I took some pink scrap ribbon and covered the wire using a hot glue gun!  Love my mini hot glue gun - I got it for like 4 bucks a couple of years ago!

And there ya go!  Cute flip flops for under $4!

And now I'll show you just how dirty my floors apparently are.  ;-)

Then I decided to get all crazy and make Lillian a pair!!  She LOVES them.  These flip flops were from Target!  It was a little more difficult to get these bows on.  I had to actually sew them to the top.  But I think they turned out so cute!

So go get crafty!  (And you really don't even have to be that crafty to do this super easy and cute tweak!)

Countdown

Not much going on over here!  We are just winding down the school year - 3 weeks left!  And as I plan our summer, I can't help but reminisce about this time last year.  I had just a few months left until Rhodes was born and was just trying to make it through the hot summer as best I could - pregnant with 3 little ones!  We made it....but those last few weeks were rough!

So I'm curious to see how this summer is different for us!  We are doing a few vacation bible schools - which will help me be able grocery shop and clean house with only 2 as opposed to 4.  And a 2 day a week for 3 weeks camp that the kids LOVE!  Things like that along with summer reading at the library, lake and beach trips, and park days help break up our week and keep us going!

I'm sure we will be a the pool a lot!  And that's where I hope pack n play training Rhodes will help out a lot!  Just hang out pool side with his toys!

Arm floaties will be my new best friend when it comes to Lillian at the pool.  She was not quite pool safe last year - see HERE, HERE and a video HERE.  But this year, she likes them and I will be able to actually sit down by the pool instead of being constantly arms length away from her at all times.  Who knows, she may be swimming all by herself by the end of the summer - my little fearless water baby!

Landon, well, he still plays it ultra safe on the wall of the pool.  But this year, I have confidence he will teach himself how to swim!  Just like he did with his bike!  This seems to be a trend with him, and with certain things, I will gladly let learn on his own!

But I'll be right there ready to "baywatch" it in the pool if needed.

For Olivia this summer, I'd be willing to bet she's going to be all about summer reading.  She loves being rewarded for things, and their incentives for reading are always fun at the library!  She will also being piano lessons this summer ending with a recital!  I'm super excited to see how she does.  I've worked with her some and she learns SUPER fast!  I think having her own teacher and lesson time will speed up her learning process!  Our piano will get lots of play summer! :-)

So we can't wait for summer!!!  Lots of fun to look forward too!

Just About A Scootin'

Little Man has been rocking on his knees for quite a while.  Though he's not 100% mobile yet, he can cover quite a large area these days.  Maybe he only does it when my head is turned.

We start out sitting up.

Then reach for a toy (that is out of sight from me).  I think he had a 4 wheeler, 2 gun holsters, and a boat to play with - courtesy of Landon - who picked them out for him.

Get frustrated if he can't get it.

Try, try again.  Because we McClellans aren't allowed to say "I can't".  :-)

Take a rest, because its a lot of hard work being a cute baby.

Then get up on all fours and try one more time!

This little angel is going to be all over the place soon!  Which of course brings lots of falls and boo boos!  Gotta learn somehow!  Might as well toughen up as you go!
