Spring break is upon us and we are hanging out around here. Yesterday, since the golf courses are closed by my parents house, we loaded up our nets and headed to the creeks.
Ford came too! :)
The sprinklers were on too which made it SO much more fun! :)
They didn't catch and minnows but they DID catch a huge turtle.
The kids absolutely LOVED it and want to go back. I have lots of memories playing in these creeks and it was fun to see my kids makin' memories too.
Highlight of my day?!? Getting my stitches out! YAY! My hand still has a good bit of healing to do but I'm glad they are out. No more sticking my hand behind dryers. :)

Updated Coupon System
So with this whole "get my life organized" overhaul that is happening, I was forced to update my coupon system.
I file my coupon inserts. I save 13 weeks of inserts. Each week, I grab the back file, throw out the inserts from 13 weeks ago and bring it to the front of the files with the NEW inserts in it.
My problem was the labels. I didn't want to have to pull out the little white label, write a new one and stick it back in. So I am using a dry erase marker on the plastic part of the label!
I added a couple of more files at the front for extra coupon books, and loose coupons.
I'm very excited about this! (the little things, ya know!) Because my old files really needed to be redone!
Happy Couponing!!

Slow Office Redo
Finally last weekend we had time to tackle my little office. I evicted my old desk and decided a large table would be better. But first we needed to paint. The color on these walls was terrible! I wanted something fresh and crisp.
I'm currently obsessed with Sherwin William Balboa Mist. It's in our bathroom and I want to re paint the whole house this color! It turns blue, grey, green, cream.....it's very versatile!
BEFORE:
Still a before but these are the curtains I chose. Soft sheer curtains that really diffused the light. Love it!!
We also plan on re carpeting a neutral color. The carpet is pretty much un-salvageable and when we have a free weekend we plan on tackling it.
The "after" for now.....
LOVE THIS WALL COLOR! And you can clean it easily... :)
Along the wall under the kitchen windows, my grandfather is building me a bookshelf/cubby area. Here is his rough sketch.
Hopefully all my things will have a their own space.
Finally the kids computer (my old one) will go in the back corner. It's primed and waiting for something to happen. Don't quite know what we'll do yet. Glaze or something. That desk on the left will go away.
Then all I need is a filling cabinet that will go under my desk to the left.
Oh and I plan on doing something to my table. Antique it or something.
Robert also spray painted the fan that was in there and it looks SHARP!! He also spray painted my new chair ($7.99 from Jimmy Hale Missions Center) black and I really like it. I'm thinking of painting the little chest under where y bags are hanging black as well.
Just a few more details to be completed and then I will finally have a nice space to call my own. I want this room to be highly functional - not something that's used as storage (like it was before a little). The room is small and needs to be managed wisely. I want things up here that are seen or touched on a daily/weekly basis. All the things that keep our family running smoothly!!
Hopefully we can tackle a few more things this weekend!!!

Well Stuff Started Happening
JUST when I tell you nothing exciting was going on around here, things started heating up. :)
First, my computer just started going downhill fast. I had a mac mini which I loved and it worked so well for me for almost SEVEN years!! But then I couldn't update it anymore because to Apple, it was ancient and was basically dead to them. Yikes.
Then the ethernet plug went out and I could only connect through wifi which was spotty at best. So my hubby let me get....
****Cue angels singing****
So I've been setting it up and transferring everything. Trying to stay organized because I plan on makin' this baby last another 7 years!! I'm super excited about being able to burn all our home videos!!
We are also re-doing the office! I've got a new desk and curtains and my grandfather is building me a bookshelf/cubby area. Robert painted and we are re-carpeting soon. As soon as I can USE MY HAND AGAIN! (more on the office later)
Yes, my hand. If you follow me on Instagram you know but I had to get SEVEN stitches last week!!!
Last Thursday night I was trying to fix the dryer. The nob to turn it on had fallen off and I unbolted the back and stuck my hand between to metal panels to push it back up through the hole and was SHOCKED by 220 VOLTS of electricity!
Let that sink in.
So trying to get my hand away as fast and I could, the front panel caught a good chunk of skin on my hand. I yelled for help and then freaked out the kids with some tears. I'm sure the blood running down my arm didn't help. Robert wrapped it up and told me to go call my dad.
So I drove down to his office so that he could look at it and possibly stitch it up.
WARNING PHOTOS ARE GRAPHIC FOR SOME! (i'll keep them small)
So seven stitches later I headed home. Friday I had to go and get a tetanus shot. OUCH! 2 days after that I could hardly raise my arm!
Today is the first day I haven't been scared to really use it. I keep it wrapped because it's ugly and I don't want to bump it.
Robert's been a huge help doing things that I just can't do right now. And Monday they will come out!! YAY! I figured we would make it fun and take a "field trip" down to Daddy Doc's office. I loved going down to Dad's office when I was little.
I hope get back into my blogging since I have a computer I don't dread using now. :)

My Little Cardinal
Baseball it in full swing again! No pun intended! :)
I've know I've said this before but I absolutely LOVE youth baseball. It is SO.MUCH.FUN. For the whole family! We've been playing with this league for 2 years now and so we know many of the kids and parents on all the teams.
We had a pre season tournament last weekend and it couldn't have been a more perfect weekend. Even though we'd only had about 1.5 practices, the boys did great and we came in 3rd place!
We are the Cardinals this season.
Landon's just been hittin' bombs and scoring his little tail off. He's had some VERY impressive plays and game saving and even game winning RBI's.
(There his is chompin' on that tongue again. Don't know if it's a nervous habit or a concentration one!)
While they are still young, the boys are really learning the game and doing well. The can put out some real nail biting games! Youth baseball shouldn't be this stressful!
But is sure is OH so fun!!
