Got the Sewing Itch Again
I love sewing! I used to sew clothes for myself in high school. I even hand embroidered a pair of jeans in junior high! I used my graduation money and bought a sewing maching! (How many high school seniors do that!)
This past summer I decided to put my self taught skills to the test! I had so much fun sewing dresses for Olivia and John Johns for Landon!
But then Lillian came along and I put everything on hold! And then I saw Morningsong stitching up some new super cute things!
I haven't made anything for Lillian yet. And my kids don't really need any clothing. I'm SUPER BLESSED with a mother-in-law that works at a CUTE kids boutique in Jackson, MS and has been wanting to open up her own store! I'm so glad my mother-in-law loves the same kind of kids clothes I do!! :-)
Lillian is set for life being Olivia's little sister! I can't wait for her to get big enough to wear all the cute clothes!!
But I just though I'd see if I had a pattern that could possibly work for Lillian! I scrounged up some old fabric and made up a pattern!

I drew on the fabric the leg extensions to make it longer in the legs.

Here it is with NO buttons in the crotch and then I would cinch the leg openings where the eyelet is with elastic! I think the shoulder straps could be a little thinner - but hey, I did this in less than an hour and adjusted it as I went!!
I think it could be pretty cute? With a long sleeve shirt underneath?? Now, I don't think the fabric works for winter, but like I said, these were scraps!
Now, if I could only get my hands on some winter fabric and make matching outfits for ALL of them with their names on it!!! :-) AHHHHH.......I could go crazy if I had the time and $$$!!!!

Let's Back up a Little
Before I start posting all the fun things were are doing during December, I guess I'll share a few pictures from Thanksgiving!
Here are my sweet little turkeys! (not my mom of course!) :-)

We could only get Landon to wear it for a second!!

Then it was off to Lake Martin where the kids did a lot of flipping!!

I have no idea how they came up with this game but it lasted a while! Then Mac (brother-in-law) started flipping Robert....great idea!! :: sense the sarcasm ::

But he didn't land on his feet!!! ;-)

So then Robert started flipping Mac! These "kids games" always turn in something more when you get the two husbands together...I don't know what it is.....

They got so into it, and the kids had just as much fun watching them!!
For Saturday lunch, we fried a turkey!!!
YUMMO!!! It was so tasty! We got a little carried away when we had the fryer out - we started frying anything we could find!! We couldn't do sweet stuff because it would have tasted like the seasonings on the turkey but we tried to fry mashed potatoes (tasted like hash browns) and we threw in crescent rolls too! They were pretty good - with a little powdered sugar on top they would have been funnel cakes!
Then that night we fried pickles, Wickles, sweet potatoes (then put cinnamon and sugar on them)and regular potatoes!

Our tummies were feelin' it the next day - but it was fun!
We topped the weekend off with a little skeet shooting competition and then headed home to recuperate!!! And it took me all of a WEEK!!!
Now, whew, it's time for CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!

Girls Night Out!
Olivia is finally getting old enough to go to movies, ballets, and musicals! This is so fun because my family loves going to live shows! I can't wait to take her to all the Broadway shows and ballets that I grew up going to.
This past weekend the Moscow Ballet Company came to town to preform The Nutcracker and my mom got 6 tickets. We went with one of my friends that also had a daughter that would enjoy it and then took another friend's daughter as well! We all went to eat beforehand and then off to the Alabama Theater to see the ballet!!

Standing in front of the Christmas tree in the BEAUTIFUL theater!!

Olivia did great - even though it went later than she's probably ever been up. She got a little fidgety in the second half but we had mini binoculars that kept her busy for a while!!
I managed to take a picture - it's blurry because I turned the flash off. But it still turned out pretty good!!

I'm so glad I have a daughter that is finally old enough to start building memories like this together!!
We're going to the musical Annie in January!!!! I can't wait because she knows every word to the soundtrack already!!!!! :-)
