Club Pub

Another great (small) shopping trip to Publix!!!

Out of Pocket: $13.16
Coupons used: $19.95
Sales: $25.28
Total Savings: $45.23

The muffins were a great deal. There was a $5 publix coupon when you bought 10. Then I had another coupon. It made them $0.24/each. Electrosal $1.49/each. Soup $0.50/each. Feminine protection (sorry guys) $0.73/each and $0.98/each, big bags of pasta/veggies $0.75/each (that's practically a meal for us!!), the relish $0.10, and the ragu $0.75/each!!!

All in all, I'm happy with this trip. Definitely got some things that we use a lot!! Too bad I didn't have more coupons for the veggies or detergent! I probably would have gotten more. But I guess it's my fault for not picking up extra Sunday papers.

Shell to Shell....to Shell

WARNING: NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. COULD GROSS YOU OUT...SORRY!!

I just witnessed, last night, one of THE COOLEST things in my hermit crab owning days. I know, stupid. But every since Robert was emailing me interesting articles about owning hermit crabs, and buying it a new shell, I've become pretty fascinated with this little creature.

So 3 more shells were added to it's cage (thanks to the people who gave us the crab....achhemmm..grandparents!). After checking them out for maybe and hour and a half, I could tell that he was really interested in this one white shell. So....I sat there, as still as I could for about 20+ minutes. I was going to get a picture of this.

And then lo and behold, he does it!!!

It was so fast too! Then I called the kids in and told them that he changed shells.

As we were watching him, we could tell that he did NOT like the white shell. It seemed a little small for him and he couldn't get all his head and legs in. He started stressing and was trying to get to another shell. Poor thing couldn't get around fast enough.

So we put his original shell back in there and let him go back in. And go back in he did!!

I have been waiting for him to change shells. I don't know why. I guess it's because you don't know what the rest of their body looks like! Well, I know now. The mystery of my hermit crab is gone. But I think we'll still keep him on the counter. :-) He really put on a show for us last night!! haha Who knew a little Destin hermit crab could be SO entertaining.

Getting Better

At two things that is!

Healthwise, I'm feeling like a brand new person not being in pain anymore. It's amazing, isn't it. :-) (Again, I'll spare you all the girly details - I promise I'm not trying to be secretive) But, let me tell you, it's pretty darn hard to take care of 3 kids and have unexplained (pretty severe) pain. But I have the BESTEST Dr ever and he took wonderful care of me!! The kids are also getting better...Lillian was a little "croupy" the other day. And we all know there is nothing you can do about it but wait it out. And Landon had a random fever. Kid thing, ya' know!! So wait it out we did...at home.

And while we were waiting it out at home, I got some time to keep playing with my camera. I tell ya', it will never end. But thank goodness it's digital and I'm not having to run back and forth to get the pictures developed, so I can learn as I go pretty quickly. When I was in high school, I took a photography course and had to shoot with an all manual AE-1 Canon SLR. But it's a whole new ball game now. And it's so fun.

And I think I'm slowly getting better. Shooting on manual at least! And it's making me capture special moments of the kids.

At least I have 1 kid that will cooperate!! :-) My sweet firstborn daughter!! We had fun.

Now, if I can only get the other two to sit still long enough to take some pictures with me. I have to say, I have huge respect for people who photograph children!!!

Friendly (Sisterly) Competition

There's nothing like out-shooting your sister in skeet! :-) Actually, we were both shooting unusually well, I thought!

Notice in the pic above, the obliterated skeet and shell flying off to the right. :-)

OH yeah

Awe, Lacey - that's okay...there's always next time! ;-)

Thanksgiving '08

What a wonderful long, relaxing weekend!!! Of course, now life is thrown into overdrive for the Christmas season! Gotta love it!! :-)

My Thanksgiving started with a trip to CVS of course!!! Their "black friday" deals started on Thursday. I was dying to take pictures of how much I stole bought, but it was TOO MUCH!! I'll give you the numbers though.

Total out of pocket: $27.47
Total savings: $105.45
Received back: $68.58 Extra Care Bucks!!!! What am I going to do with all of those!

Basically a Profit of: $41.11

So needless to say, I was on a extreme frugal shopping high to start the weekend off! Wonderful!

Then we started to make our rounds of Thanksgiving feasts! I'm not sure there is anything much better than a southern Thanksgiving meal. YUMMO!!

And then burning it off running around in the back yard! :-)

Then off to the lake for two more meals! Too bad the weather was crummy until the day we were leaving!

But that didn't stop us from making a bonfire and cooking s'mores in the rain!!

And throwing a lot of rocks in the water! Endless fun!!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Now, let's get this Christmas season going!!! I know it's been all Christmas music in my car today!!! :-)
