Well Lacey's due date came and went. I have to say, she has been feeling great and I have heard NO complaints! Seriously, she's handled this pregnancy so beautifully. And doing much better emotionally than I was at the end of my pregnancies.
There she is!! All of 40 weeks and 2 days! We are just waiting around and hoping Ford decides to come soon!
Come on Baby Ford! You have LOTS of aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents waiting to meet you!!
Today I'm going off the beaten path a little and want to feature an artist on my blog. Mila Dreher Hirsch is actually a long time acquaintance of mine and also long time childhood neighbor. I grew up going to her house for bible club when I was in junior high and high school. Her older brother and I went to high school together and our parents are also really good friends.
Anyway, it wasn't until a few years ago that I realized how talented an artist that Mila was!! I first saw her portraits and was quite impressed.
A little blurry...check them out on her website!
Mila has been hard at work in New York painting some still life paintings for an upcoming art show. The paintings take a long time to finish. Here is a time lapse video of her amazing talent.
These paintings are so beautiful and can also be pricey in the art world. But who doesn't want beautiful art? Mila is currently offering these beautiful paintings in a form called Giclee.
Haven't heard of it? Me neither. You can read about them HERE. Basically, it a print on canvas where the ink is sprayed on so it looks like the original painting. Then Mila hand signs, stretches, and varnishes the giclee. For Mila, it takes weeks to paint just one of these paintings. A giclee allows her to sell the paintings that took a long time to make for less.
Here's the good part. Investing in art can be, well, rather expensive. These giclee's are only $200!!! A great price for investing in such beautiful art!
Lately, Olivia has been wanting different hair styles. She will watch little tutorials on youtube and practice on herself. Hair is so much fun to play with. It also needs to be age appropriate. Some of the stuff is just too "grown up".
BUT, the other day on pinterest - I finally caved and joined and it wasn't nearly as overwhelming as I thought it was - under the kids section I saw a cute little hairdo and wanted to try it on Olivia. It actually turned out quite nicely and kept her hair out of her face for school!!
I don't know what you call these but they're mini flipped through pony tails along her part!!
Clear rubber bands would probably be neater, but I only had these little colored ones. I told myself I wouldn't buy any more clear ones because you drop them and can't find them. I'm sure they're all in my vacuum cleaner.
Anyway, if there are any other cute little girl hairdos out there, send them my way! Because she can't stand the pony tails or half updos anymore!!
