A Boy and a Hose

A couple of weeks ago Robert was out washing cars with the boys.  Well, give Rhodes and hose, and he is happy as can be.  Shocking right?

He went to town!!

Love his face here....gonna get Daddy!

He stayed well entertained for quite a while.

You may have notice the big boy underwear.  NO, I am NOT potty training.  Will Rhodes go in the potty and stay dry for a while.  YES.  Will he poop in the potty?  YES.  Is he probably ready to be fairly well potty trained?  Probably.  Is Mommy ready to make lots of bathroom stops out and about right now and clean up accidents??  Big.Fat.No.

My personal preference to potty training is to wait it out.  Wait til they are SUPER ready and then it's SUPER fast to potty train.  I pushed Olivia when she was two and it was just a drawn out process and made for lots of cleaning up accidents.  I waited with Landon until he was 3 and then he was done in a couple days.  Can't remember quite potty training Lillian, but I waited and she was also pretty independent and was done pretty quickly.  I've never had a child WANT to go so early, but I'm gonna wait it out a bit longer.  And if my experience proves right, he'll be trained quickly and fully!

Every so often we let him run around with underwear on and sometimes find him on the potty.  It's more just for fun.

Even though I look forward to being diaper free (don't even know what that's like!!!) I'm in no rush.  And with couponing, I can get them so cheap, it's not a huge expense.  In fact, today, I will be getting a jumbo pack of Huggies from CVS for $2.99 (on sale for $8.99) with 2 $3.00 coupons.  Once CVS coupon and one manufacturer coupon.  SCORE!!!

Dog Days of Summer

And internet is back up!  Why didn't anyone tell me the pics were HORRIBLE from the last post.  I did it from my phone, so I couldn't tell.  I fixed it though.  SUPER happy to have our internet back up and running!!!

1.5 more weeks until school!  We are kinda bored because NOTHING is going on.  All the summer programs are over, and we're kinda burned out on swimming, McWane, and zoo.

I feel like I can't even think straight with such a lack of routine.  I'm definitely looking forward to getting back into one!!

So, until I can think straight again and tell you about our weekend at the LAKE...hint, the kids learned to WAKE BOARD!  Pretty.Darn.Awesome......I will leave you with a video my sis took of Rhodes on her phone.  He is just too silly!

HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE!!!

Hanging Around

A typical Sunday evening at our house is cooking a laid back dinner, hamburgers this night, and paying outside.  I usually consists of some kinda of ball activity with the boys.  And the girls, well, they didn't come out much.  :-)  I think Olivia was busy inside doing something.  We are definitely moving into the tween phase.  Just barely.  But I think I'm getting glimpses.

Rhodesie boy just ran around and played his little heart out.

Leave it to Landon to get crazy on Lillian's bike.  He asked me to take this picture.

Love, love, love little squishy toddler legs.

We, and by we I mean Olivia/Landon/Robert, are growing a couple of plants.  I seriously have a BLACK THUMB and cannot grow anything.  BUT, also our yard don't get any full sun.  And it's hard to grow veggies that need full sun in a yard without full sun.  Which I'm really not complaining about because it makes it so much more tolerable to play outside.

Landon is growing jalapenos and Olivia is growing cherry tomatoes.

Oh, she made a quick appearance with her rapunzel doll.  That she wanted me to put a rubber band and bow in her hair just like her own.

LOVE this pictures.  Look at that sweet face!  I really hope he plays baseball again.

You would never know that he stuck his tongue out at me just hours before.  And told me I tried to "kill him" for helping him put his goggles on at the pool (I think goggle bands pulled his hair).  Perseverance.  Consistency.  Loving Discipline.  Whew...he keeps me on my toes.

And he's getting a hair cut THIS WEEK!

Bite? Bite?  Rhodes has a spatula with mud on it.  Think he's been watching the girls "cook"?

Future baseball boy!!

Oh yeah!!

He's ready.  Do they have a two year old division??

Can you tell I have my photoshop back up and running!?  SOO happy to get that back on.  I didn't enjoy iphoto and RAW.  Glad to be back in my photo routine.

HAPPY TUESDAY!

FOJ'11 (2)

More hanging around at the lake.  Lots of pictures....

Lillian was feeling brave and wanted to tube.  Not so much once she got out there.  I give her one more year before we let her get away with hanging out in the boat the whole time.  ;-)

Obviously, Olivia and Landon really enjoy tubing.

Sunday night we shot some fireworks.  We had a couple of REALLY great ones.  We are learning which ones to get from the store!!!

We also got to hang out with sweet Ashley and meet her fiance Chris!!  SOOO glad to see them and hear their "love story".   Don't they make a gorgeous couple?

It's after hours that things really get interesting.

And those are the only two pictures I can show ya!

Na, we were good.  Mostly.  But is sure is fun getting all the adult couples and cousins together!!  Fun times!!!

Now who wants to get tickled???  ;-)

Sour

I'm sure you can all understand why I would want Rhodes to stay in the stroller the entire duration of baseball games.  I would miss every play if I had to chase him around.

So we get a little....creative, we shall say, to keep him entertained in the stroller.

Yes, we do the snacks and suckers.  But at the last game, it was sour skittles.  :-)

Begging to get out.

Here Rhodesie Boy...try one of these! ;-)

SOUR!

But he keeps on going....

One more time...maybe it won't be so sour!

Then we let him out of the stroller after the game was over, and he couldn't have been HAPPIER!!

FREEDOM!!!  Almost.....
