We spend many a summer nights out in the driveway! Robert is working with Landon on pitching!! Rhodes wanted in on the action too. I thought it was so cute when he went and squatted next to Robert! He'll be playing before we know it!

Playin' With The REAL Baseball Players!
We had the opportunity through our baseball league to have a day at the ballpark with the Birmingham Barons. They kids would be able to go onto the field with the players before the game and run little drills....throwing, pitching, and catching.
We all packed up after church and headed down to the stadium. Landon and a few of his baseball buddies got to throw and catch with the players!! They.Had.A.Blast.
They warmed up with them, stretched with them and gave them tips on catching the ball.
The other kids literally ran free on the field. It was perfect! We kept throwing a ball for Rhodes, Lillian, and Olivia to keep chasing!
Pretty cool. Can you spot who is who out there?
Landon's first time up on the pitching mound he threw a hard ball that caught 3 of the players' eyes and they commented on how good a throw it was! I was proud to claim him! ;-)
Then we stayed and watched them warm up before the game.
If you wondering why there have been hardly any pictures of Olivia lately, this is why. She won't let me take any!
Rhodesie boy was in HEAVEN! Trying to go and get the ball. Trying on all of Landon's baseball things and running his little heart out until he was flat worn out!

Then the players were all suited up!
Landon even got his gloved signed by one of the players!!! I think they realized it was pretty cool talking to a "real baseball player"!!!!
We will definitely be hitting up another game! The day was absolutely perfect and beautiful! And hopefully Landon was able to understand the game and learn some things too!!!

That Time Again!
Hey Y'all! I'm back. Nothing like a little stomach bug to set you back a few days! Lillian gave it to Rhodes, Rhodes gave it to me, and we spent Tuesday in bed together sipping on Gingerale and Gatorade! Nice, eh!?
And unfortunately, Tuesday night was Landon's first big baseball game of the season!!! I didn't make it and HATED missing it, but my mommy duties were calling big time!
But here are some pics from his practice game last week! His team is the Boston Red Socks! :-)
Robert played catcher during the practice game! I think he loved being out there!
Rhodes just sat in the stroller and ate! Can't believe he sat there the whole time!!! Let's hope it lasts all season!
Landon's been put at pitcher right now! The boys are doing great...I think it just takes time to learn how to field and know exactly what's going on! But practice makes perfect....RIGHT!?!
He's definitely a GREAT hitter!
I'm looking forward to this season! The weather has been GREAT and makes for perfect ballpark days!!

UNDEFEATED
We had our last game Sunday!!! And WON!!!
Landon's team was undefeated for the entire season. In fact, I think we "ten run ruled" our opponents in every game. :-)
Robert's parents came in town to see him play! We enjoyed hanging out with them at the ballpark!
Rhodes wasn't feeling the best. I don't know what exactly was wrong, but he was kinda cuddly at times.
We watched the Rough Riders play one last time this season!
Watched Landon score his last few runs of the season!
Then enjoyed some cookie cake....DOUBLE LAYERED by the way - I had no idea they could do THAT! YUM!!!
Tried for some pictures.....I'll let you see how THAT turned out. ;-)
Yup....whatev.
I did manage to get a little bit better one with the Gparents!
Rhodes was DYING for a capri sun.
Why not....I actually DID have a change of clothes. So go for it baby!
Lillian enjoyed hers too.....
The trophy! The trophy was HUGE! Biggest one EVER for Landon!
So proud of Landon and his teammates!! We had a great time....made some new friends...and hopefully will get to play with them again in the spring!!!
Of course, we'll enjoy our little break from the baseball schedule.
Now, what ever shall I do with all my free time now? ;-)

Night Games
During this season of baseball there were two 7:15 night games on the schedule. Well, if you know me, school nights are NOT late nights and we like to have the kids in bed at an early hour.
Well, I figured I could give up TWO nights the whole season to support the Rough Riders.
This was actually kinda a unique night at the ball park. We were the only field lit up and being played on.
And it was FOGGY!
Landon's team creamed the other team....of course!
Have I mentioned we're UNDEFEATED!!?????!
Landon had several great hits. He's only struck out twice the entire season so far.
He had a couple of great plays while playing left field. He's learning to get rid of the ball and watch where the players are to see where to throw it!
And then he's excellent at backing up the first baseman!!!
Rhodes enjoyed watching Landon for 2.5 seconds.
Until he was distracted by none other than a baseball!
I haven't been putting him in a stroller *gasp* at the games and just letting him run free.
Pretty sure he's never staying in a stroller again.
Free to RUN!
Olivia...well, she found other ways to keep herself occupied. Hello cell phones....at least she hasn't started asking for one yet. ;-)
Who knows where Lillian was. (I really did know where she was, she just didn't make it in any pictures) She's made friends with one of Landon's teammates little sisters and they just run around and play hide and go seek around us.
FUN TIMES at the ballpark!!
