Spring Break Day 2

Day 1 of spring break ended with a cookout at my cousin's house.  Always fun getting all the cousins together.  And nice to not have to rush home and go to bed because we have school in the morning.  :)

Today, we loaded up snacks and bikes and headed to the park with more cousins!  It's so pretty out and the breeze was just perfect.

Crazy boy was all OVER the place climbing.  Hard to keep up with AND keep my eye on the other kids.  I think I only had 1 mother comment on how he was "making her nervous".  I think that's a record low! ;)

I also got to meet my newest cousin AB!  That's her big sis giving her a sweet kiss.

SO tiny and cute!

Notice Rhodes in the background.  Landon rode his bike the whole time.  He's my little biker.

These girls are too cute!  They play really well together!

Even Ford came out to play.

We have a couple more fun things planned this week.  A visit to the HUGE park near our house with the 3 story slides and even a visit to the $1 movies!  We may even just eat popcorn for dinner that night. :)

Start Your Engines!

Hey Y'all!!!   Back from a little break.  And I'm not too sorry about it!!  :-)  Everyone needs a break every once in a while.

This past weekend there was a big Indy Race in town!  The Honda something or another.

Well, my BIL just happen to be working at the event and scored some tickets and even better...a PARKING PASS to the event.  Let's just say, we practically drove right on up to the track!  We didn't even show our tickets - that's how good the parking pass was!!  It was cool!!

We found a little hilly part right up close to the track.  It was a great spot.  We could see the jumbo screen and then the cars were super close!

There's Danika Patrick with her GoDaddy suit on!

The boys loved it!

Ruben Studdard sang the National Anthem.

Then the jets flew over!!

And my favorite, Rick and Bubba, kicked off the races!  "Start Your Engines!"

After a few warm up laps (which they were still flying) the race got going!

Go Danika!

Here's a 10 second clip.  Turn your volume all the way up...then multiply times 10 to know how loud it really was! ;-)

Then they REALLY took off.....

Landon was like, "WHOA!"

It kinda scared Rhodes at first...but after a while his ears were used to it.

During one of the first few laps of the race, a car randomly pulled over right in front of us.  We don't know why, but I jumped up and took a picture.  Right afterwards, one of Robert's friends called Robert and told him he just saw our whole family on TV!  How funny!  We had no idea.  I was wavin' like a fool too! ;-)

It was super warm that day.  Not unbearable, but let's say we all got a jump start on our summer tans.

The preggers was a trooper!  Her little 16.5 week bump!! ;-)

Then we said goodbye to all the cars!

The races are something we will definitely will do again.  We would have stayed later, but there was some little golf game called the Masters on and Robert wanted to watch the end.  ;-)

There were TONS of things to do at the Barber Motorsports Park - and it's literally a few miles away from us.  Next time we will need to take advantage of all the activities!  But it was definitely a great first time!!

Water Balloons

We LOVE some water balloons at the lake.  They get some serious action.  And most of the time, people love it.

Add a water balloon launcher and drive by boaters....you got yourself some REAL FUN!  I highly recommend it.  ;-)

First we decided to peg the kids.  They loved it and when we missed, and the balloons didn't pop, they would go get them and give them back to us!!!

I thought I'd give it a shot and see if I could hit one of them.  ;-)

And here's me kinda feeling like a bad mommy for trying to peg my kids with water balloons.

Then Rachel (my cousin) saw her mom loading up in their boat next door and thought it'd be funny to try and hit her.

We missed.  (Probably a good thing).  Sorry Aunt Kathy!!  It wasn't my idea! ;-)

Sometimes a boat or sea doo would be close enough that Robert would just throw a water balloon at them by hand.

Like I said, 99% of people/boats LOVE it.  They slow down and let us try a few times, or turn around and come back for more.

BUT, every once in a while, you get a "bad boat".  One that is NOT fond of our favorite lake pasttime.

Notice "old grumpy man" accusingly pointing his finger at Robert.

All I'm gonna say is:

1.  Robert was a gentleman and held his tongue....despite EVERYTHING mean the guy was saying.

2.  I ran so fast to the back of the dock it wasn't even funny.  (because I actually was holding the balloon launcher in my hand - even though Robert threw the balloon that hit the boat by hand)

3.  And last, but not least, a big thanks to my father who kept clicking away on my sis's camera during the entire fiasco.

We bid them a friendly "4th of July" farewell and sent them on their merry little way.

Let me repeat...NO ONE was hurt or hit by any balloons!!!!  ALL of this was done with the boats attention and all but one boat enjoyed it!!!

MD Football

Mother's Day was great!   I'll spare you the pics of breakfast in bed my kids brought me.  Don't want to scare anyone.  But I do have the sweetest kiddos!

After church, lunch with friends, and a rest time, we headed to my parent's house to celebrate 3 generations of mothers!  Good food, good fellowship, and good fun!!

And then we played a little Mother's Day Football game!

Landon is quite the little athlete...but we kinda knew that already!

Teach 'em early!

Is that good form or what!?  ;-)

Getting set....gotta be ready to get that ball!

Lillian's turn to play QB!!

It may be a tradition now.  :-)

Happy belated Mother's Day to all mommies out there!!!
